Who am i?
First off, I'd like to start by saying if you made it this far into my website...THANK YOU!!
My name is Hannah Rogers and I am a local photographer serving the Charleston to Huntington area. Do I venture out of this area? ABSOLUTELY!
I have three wonderful children ages 2, 4 and 6.. i know what you're thinking and yes I am doing okay.. most days. ;) I have been with my husband for 10 years now and we have been enjoying these early years of raising our babies.
I started my photography journey in September of 2020. I've always wanted to pick up the camera but always had this fear that I'd never catch on to the logistics or ins and outs of how to not only operate the camera but how to effectively run a photography business. I spent several months practicing, learning my equipment with LOTS of trial and error. Thankfully, I have met TONS of amazing photographers along the way who help support one another in making sure we are all accomplishing the personal growth we want to see happen.
I started off shooting Nikon. I had a beginner's camera and it worked for what I was wanting it to do. I used both of my Nikons up until December of 2023. I was second shooting over 10 weddings that fall and I could notice how significantly it was impacting not only my performance but the outcome of my images. I finally took the plunge and upgraded....
I have the Sony Alpha 7R III and it is by far my favorite purchase to date! Along with the 85 mm 1.4 and the 50 mm lens. It has leveled up my photography business to a scale I have been longing to reach.
Now that you know a little bit about me, I want you to know my WHY...
Everyday I encounter families, parents, couples, etc.. People who just want memories of their loved ones or to capture special moments in their lives, but there is always the one thing that holds people back.. COST. If there is one thing I strive for in my business it is making sure that families or anyone have the memories they deserve or want to cherish for years to come. As a mom there's nothing I love more than looking back at images of my children that hang on our walls.
Could we all take pictures with our phones and still have memories? Sure... but having the perspective of a photographer who knows what angles to capture, knows when to snap the picture when you're not looking. We capture the GENUINE moments.. And let's be honest, how many pictures do you have in your camera roll right now where YOU are captured in that memory too? How many images are just of everyone else. YOU need to be in the images so that way everyone has memory of you to cherish for years to come as well...
Although my first blog isn't very long, if you have made it to this part of it, I thank you for the support you are showing my small business. Keep an eye out for more to come!
